Adipose Conective Tissue

Adipose is composed mostly of adipocytes that contain a lipid droplet, which does not stain, surrounded by a think border. As a result, when observing adipose tissue, you see empty looking cells with the nuclei pushed out to one side. Adipose connective tissue functions as an energy reserve as well as to insulate the body and protect internal organs.

Slides on this page were made by students between the spring of 2018 and the spring of 2020. Go through the diffrent student pictures and compare them to your lab book picture. Then slect one to draw on paper. Be sure to label the cells and the fibers.
