Dense Regular Conective Tissue

Dense regular connective tissue gets its name for how tightly packed its collagen fibers are and the fact that the fibers are going the same direction. Dense regular provides unidirectional strength and is found in ligaments and tendons. It has great strength and resists pulling along the direction of its collagen fibers (bundles). The thick collagen fibers (bundles) run parallel to each other and the fibroblast nuclei are interspaced at random intervals.

Slides on this page were made by students between the spring of 2018 and the spring of 2020. Go through the diffrent student pictures and compare them to your lab book picture. Then slect one to draw on paper. Be sure to label the cells and the fibers.
