Sebaceous Gland

Sebaceous glands are oil producing glands that are associated with the hair follicle. Unlike apocrine sweat glands which are found under the hair bulb and have ducts going up to the hair follicle, sebaceous glands sit right on the hair follicle and have very short ducts. The oil produced by sebaceous glands serves to lubricate the skin.
