Reflex Model

Lab quiz 8 will be on the spine, the PNS and the ANS. There will be some overlap on the models. Below is a reflex model. First try to identify the afferent, integration, and efferent neurons in the reflex. Next, try to identify the spine structures. Move the mouse over to see if you are right. This page has a little more detail than the other 2 spine models. My goal is you see the relationship between the functions of the different parts of the spine and the regions. Be sure to see the simple spine model and the spine at C6.

Notes

  • Posterior = Dorsal
  • Anterior = Ventral
  • Ramus=singular. Rami=plural
  • Gray and white MaTTer
  • Dura, Arachnoid, and Pia MaTer.
  • Funiculus= area of white mater in the spine. Thus, technically the posterior white matter is also the posterior funiculus.
