The Tibia

The page opens with the posterior view of the right tibia. The proximal end is to your left and the distal end is to your left. The blue plus gives you landmarks of both a left and right tibia. Find the land marks below.
  • Anterior Border- Ridge on the anterior surface running length of diaphysis.
  • Lateral condyle - Ball like structure on lateral side of proximal epiphysis. Faces to the posterior.
  • Medial condyle - Ball like structure on medial side of proximal epiphysis. Faces to the posterior.
  • Medial malleolus - Flat structure on the medial side of distal epiphysis.
  • Tibial tuberosity - Knob about 1 inch from the top on the proximal epiphysis. In the center of the anterior surface.
