Lab quiz 3 axial skeleton

Introduction

Lab quiz 3 will be on the axial skeleton which is the skull (divided into facial and cranial bones), the vertebrae, the ribs, the sternum, and the hyoid bone. Expect 20 questions with half being on bones in the skull and their landmarks. The other half will be the vertebrae, the ribs, the sternum, and the hyoid bone. The tabs will take you to different views of these bones.

Cranial Bones

I will ask you ~5-7 landmarks between the facial and cranial bones. (Spoiler, there are more landmarks on the cranial bones). I have provided 3 views of the cranial bones. Look at canvas for the landmarks that I will test you on. For the temporal bone, the styloid process doesn't come out very nice on the skulls with different colored bones. Click on the 3 different views. Guess the bones (numbers) and landmarks (number+letter). Mouse over to see if you are right.

Facial Bones

I will ask you ~5-7 landmarks between the facial and cranial bones. (Spoiler, there are more landmarks on the cranial bones). On the models below, identify the facial bones (numbers) and their landmarks. Again, look at canvas to see what I will test you on. There are some landmarks that would be too small to ask on the test.

Vertebrae

You will have ~5-6 questions for the vertebrae. 3 will ask you to identify the specific vertebrae. 3 will ask you landmarks. Go to the pictures below by clicking on the picture or link. Try to identify the vertebrae and the landmarks. Mouse over to see if you are right.

Ribs, sternum, and hyoid

If my math is right, you will have ~1-4 questions on the ribs, sternum, and hyoid bone. You will also have ~ 5 questions asking you to identify a bone of the skull. Click on the bones below. Mouse over to see if you are right for the landmarks. I put the skull bone model you looked at in lab here to. It looked silly by itself at the top of the page.
